Driving Retail Success: How We Supported BIC In Their 2024 Back-to-School Campaign in Tesco

We’ve been supporting BIC’s back to school promotions for over 4 years now in several retailers. This year we’re proud to be representing their brand and ensuring their products / promotions are looking spectacular in Tesco across the UK for the best shopper experience, boosting those all important sales.

The Back to School promotion is of paramount importance to BIC as a stationery brand. You could even call it their Christmas! They have 4 spaces, which differ between different sized Tesco stores. These spaces needed to be set up and maintained over a 4 week period, starting from the 12th July 2024.

Back to School Bus – FSDU (182 Stores)

All aboard! This Pallet FSDU arrives into the warehouse pre filled, and needed to be sited on the shop floor in a prime location. Our colleagues locate the pallet and liaise with Tesco staff in order to site it in the best location with all 4 sides shoppable.

Power Aisle Trays – Seasonal for Back to School (802 Stores)

This main aisle is where most shoppers will head to when looking for stationery. With lots of competition alongside it’s of paramount important these shelves shine high above the rest.

The main stationery fixture in all Tesco stores.

Icon Pallet (182 Stores)

A smaller unit, housing 3 other brands, this is a ‘lucky dip’ style FSDU. Smaller but still important to ensure this stays stocked and looking great.

Taking Action

After our initial discussions with BIC, we formulated the most efficient option to take. We calculated just over 2,500 hours over a 4 week period, in 3 visit, or ‘waves’. We activated our workforce across the UK and made our first visit on 15th July. This initial call was to set up the BUS unit, ensure all stock was out on the Seasonal Aisle and make sure store colleagues are aware. Also tidying and replenishing the Icon Pallet and the main fixture.

Additional info

Cross functional working with Tesco colleagues is vital to this activity – previously we’ve found units placed against a wall (deeming one side unshoppable), and also if the units sell out of stock, they are removed, and will need to be sited again.

Our commitment to delivering exceptional service for BIC’s Back to School promotion is rooted in ensuring every aspect of their product displays is optimised for success. By maintaining clear communication with Tesco staff and proactively managing stock and presentation across key retail spaces, we help create the best possible shopping experience. If you’re looking for a dedicated partner to elevate your in-store marketing efforts and drive sales, we’d love to hear from you.
